This week we are pulling each of the previous three weeks together with a favorite slogan, "Just Do IT!" So often, I think I should write a book titled, "Just Make Yourself!" (Someday, I might!)
But for our purpose, my goal is to give those of you who might need a push or pinch or a pat a reminder that YOU have to do "it!" What is "it" in your life? Thinking back over our series, we've been trying to save money, calories and time. This week, journal (or answer the following questions) about:
What is left undone that I need to be complete?
Who needs something I have that I don't use anymore?
Where can I save money this week, today, NOW?
What have I put off or procrastinated doing that I must JUST DO?
Take a look at I Chronicles 28:9, 20.
And as always...
Be encouraged,
Becky
Looking forward to today's call. Hopefully I can listen live, but I am at beach with family and may be at a water park. Anyway....I ate terribly the last two days. Today, I woke up with a fresh, focused attitude, drank my water, and took a walk on the beach...And guess what shirt I put on this morning....the one that says, "Just Do IT!!!!". Coincidence? I don't think so. Thanks for the prayers and encouraging words!

ReplyDeleteBecky,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your encouraging words. So far I have purchased and started reading The Rest of God & the flat belly diet. In the Rest of God the author talks about how we hear something, get inspired but do nothing. Thank you for the action plan step, that will help get me moving in the God's to do list.
Dear Lord,
Thank you that you are a God of do-overs. Please encourage these ladies with your to do list for them. Breath your Holy Spirit into their lifes. Praise to the King of Glory. Amen
Becky,
ReplyDeleteToday I made a different kind of "to do" list. Following your advice, I made "God's list of things for me to do." It really worked! I didn't finish all of the things on the list, but I worked hard on ONE thing at a time until I finished it instead of flitting from one to another, as I've been prone to do lately. Thanks for your encouraging words!
Robbie, I am also grateful that we serve a "God of do-overs!" Thank you for your prayers for the group.
Wishing everyone a week of triumphs and blessings!
I'm so proud of you all. Just so you know...you encourage me too!
ReplyDeleteHaving a plan is revolutionary to me. Last night I had a plan, 5am appointment with God, 6:30 walk and talk with friend. I start the FBD on Monday. Cleaned the refrigerator out of any bad food yesterday and doing the pantry today. Becky, what do you say when someone asks
ReplyDeleteyou to eat something that isn't part of your diet? I listened to your You are what you eat 2x's and I couldn't pick up your comment. Have a great day and thanks for your comments they are nice to read.
Thanks for the calls this week Becky.
ReplyDeleteI think, my "Just Do It" list is also in a way what God wants me to do.
There are some things I have, as we all do, procrastinated on. As you have said, that can cause chaos and confusion.
So, am trying to nail down some things and to cease to do some things, or do them less.
This should, in a roundabout way, help with what God wants me to do.
This may not make sense to anyone but me....yikes
Becky, Thanks again for another timely tip. I had a doctors appt so missed your last weeks live thursday health call. Hope it went well. Is there anything from that call you want to share with our Wed. group? I have a question. How much does personality type affect what we are trying to work on? I understand we are all responsible to the Lord but do you find a difference in people depending on how they are wired? For instance I am a sanguine/phlegmatic with adult ADD. My brain is wired different than a coleric/melancoly for instance. All of our assignments seem so much harder for me. I am not trying to use it as an excuse, I am just wondering if you have have dealt with this before?
ReplyDeleteYes, personality always plays into HOW you will respond to assignments, even how quickly you respond to them. For example, phlegmatic though will procrastinate and the sanguine will overspend impulsively...meaning: all personality types have weaknesses! In my coaching series, I often ask people to choose one or two of their weaknesses and role play a different way of responding to a current situation. Try that...don't be too hard on yourself. We all have weaknesses. Lean on your strengths to get things done!
